Wallpapers and Fabrics by Time Period

For our TRADITIONAL HOME section, we at HISTORIC STYLE have chosen wallpapers and fabrics that are either actual document (reproduction historic) patterns, or are very similar in tone, colour, pattern, and finish as those of a particular identified period, which we have carefully researched.

We have grouped the wallpapers and fabrics by time period for information and as guidelines for people restoring their homes. Some styles of architecture - like Arts & Crafts - were most popular in one period - from 1900 to 1920 - but were being built into the late 1920's, so please refer to the list below to find your style or time period.

1740 - 1840
Georgian and Federal Homes
(Also suitable for Federal and Colonial Revival style homes of the early 20th century)

1840 - 1880
Early Victorian Homes, including Gothic and Italianate houses

1880 - 1900
Italianate, Queen Anne and Mansard homes. Also Art Nouveau Style wallpapers and fabrics and English Arts & Crafts

1900 - 1920
American Arts & Crafts and Bungalow houses; as well as Edwardian classical; Colonial Revival and American Foursquare styles

1920 - 1930
Homes of the 1920's, including Georgian and Federal Revival styles

1930 - 1940
Homes of the 1930's, including Art Deco styles

1940 - 1950
Homes of the 1940's

1950 - 1960s
