21st Century Revival Wallpapers and Fabrics

Wallpapers and Fabrics of the 21st Century

Wallpaper and fabric design has its own history of looking back for inspiration for designs for today.

Revival designs have always been part of wallpaper history.  William Morris was inspired by designs from the 16th century for some of his patterns.  Georgian wallpaper designs were revived in the 1950's, alongside more contemporary 'atomic amoeba' designs that are more commonly associated with that period.

At the start of the 21st century, old designs are again being revived - usually adapted by bold colouring and changes of scale or detail.

Here, we present wallpaper and fabric designs that clearly have their roots in historic designs, but they have been enlivened with a twist, making them very much a part of today's designs for our contemporary world.

We will be adding more designs in this section, so stay tuned!
