Wallpapers and Fabrics for homes from the 1950's and 1960's
For Modern Homes, including Post and Beam and Swinging Sixties

We ourselves find it hard to believe that these time periods now qualify as"historic". But for those people who have wonderful houses from this time period, and are finding it hard to find fabrics and wallpapers to go with their "tulip" chairs, and your post and beam home (or other style), we present a small range of wallpapers and fabrics from the 1950's and 60's.

From the popularity of the grey and maroon/burgundy colour schemes of the early 1950's, the colour palette soon embraced brighter pinks, whites and blacks. Bright pastel colours also became popular: yellows and aquas with the pinks. Favourite colour combinations also included dishes (California china or Melmac) in mixed sets of maroon, grey, dark green, lime green and yellow.

The 1960's were a decade of change, and interior design was no exception. Wallpapers were mostly supplanted by painted surfaces through the decade, but some kicky designs and patterns in bright strong colours suitable to the period were produced. Not many archives contain 1960's wallpapers yet, but as we find them, we will continue to add designs to this section.
