We are always pleased to receive Customer Feedback at office@Historic Style.com. Since the introduction of our online catalogue in 1999 we have received more feedback than ever before!
Since 1989, when we first opened for business, we have had a great record of Customer Service, with lots of positive response. If a rare problem does occur, we work very hard to correct it.
For a selection of responses from our appreciative customers over the last few years, please see below.
Hi [Staff person]
We received our packages today. I just wanted to thank you so very much for your wonderful service and our paper and fabric. They were certainly well worth the price. I can't wait to see how wonderful our rooms will look when papered. And thank you for suggesting that particular fabric as a complement to the paper. It is absolutely gorgeous! Have a wonderful day!
Thank you for the super quick response, and great customer service.

The wallpaper arrived yesterday; it's lovely!
I got your phone call and looked up the email. I did receive the package and I thank you for your good service.
The wallpaper rolls arrived the other day and are gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!
I will send photos, when we are complete.
Thank you for all your help!
Yes, yes, yes!
We received the samples on Wednesday, in great shape! We love the Pimpernel wallpaper and were so happy to see the additional Larkspur patterns you sent.
Thank you for the terrific service. We are still negotiating construction at this point and that will determine which and how much wallpaper we order from you, but we are very excited about working with you in the near future.
Thank you again for the beautiful paper and kind consideration –
The doorbell arrived earlier today, and looks great. Thanks!
Firstly I love your website! It's fantastic. I have been floundering around trying to work out what style to redecorate our 1898 house in Wellington, New Zealand in. Can you help me? I have sent you a photo of the front entrance leadlight. I think it is original. I'm not sure though.
I like the designs of Charles Voysey, would they be ok with this style of house?
And a follow-up…
Thanks for sending me that information on what style you think our house is.
Thanks for your advice on putting in some William Morris fabrics. I have been lucky enough to have had an Arts and Craft style 1920s house, which I renovated over the last 5 years where I used all William Morris fabrics so I know them well. I've sent you a few photos of our arts and craft style house I took just after I renovated that one in the next email.
Kind regards and congratulations on that wonderful website.
Wow, are you folks efficient! I see that you have already shipped my beautiful tiles according to the other email I just received.
Dear Historic Style:
I wish to compliment your company on having a very smooth ordering process, and a well-thought-out web site. I found your site through a link on the Morris Society web site. What a treasure you bring us!
The beautiful green pattern that serves as a background to your website is very appealing. Is it available as a wall covering? Available in red/burgundy/claret?
I've been exploring it on and off most of the day. (Perhaps if William Morris were alive today, he would say: "Do not visit any website unless you know it to be useful, and believe it to be beautiful." Your website is both.)
We will be building a new house within the next year or two, and believe me, I will be back to purchase, not just to visit.
Congratulations on the hard work and excellence that has gone into your business!
Thought you'd like to see a little of your fabric in the finished room set. We created a kitchen in the Mackintosh style and used the Mackintosh chenille ("Rose and Teardrop") for 3 decorator pillows.
We are now considering a Mackintosh dining room. Perhaps we'll be calling on you again for fabric (or paper!) in the future.
Subject: Vine wallpaper
While ordering samples of fabric for the next project in my home I mentioned that I was very pleased with how the William Morris ‘Vine’ wallpaper looked in the dining room of our 1848 house.
The young woman with whom I was speaking said she would be delighted to see a photo of it and so I have attached several.
The need for using a flash made the silk of the drapes look unnaturally bright, but they do pick up the gold of the wallpaper nicely. The woodwork and below the chair rails looks dark green in the photos, but actually it is a bronze stippled paint matching the shade of the background of the wallpaper.
My husband and I are delighted with the results.
I am writing to let you know that our entire wallpaper
order arrived today - only one week after the
order was placed! The order is complete, the
wallpaper is lovely and your service is outstanding. Thank
you so much, it is a pleasure to do business with

I’ve just bought a John Keppie / Charles Rennie

for a source of decorating materials.
Yours is by far the most interesting and comprehensive

Good morning! I arose this a.m. with the expectation

I discovered the history of half the Liberty materials

So thank you. I have to now rethink the
living room here. But in the meantime, I've expanded
my rethink to include new tiles around the fireplace,
tapestries and pillows....etc etc.
I wish you prosperity - at least until I've figured

I just found your website online. Although I'm
not yet ready to order (so many choices, so little
wall-space), I just wanted to offer my compliments

Wow, I just found your site and love it. I need some
help though. I just bought a 1917 Craftsman home and
I need help on what colors to paint the interior. I
was looking through your fabrics because I love textiles
and working with color in my fabrics. I looked at them
all and the ones that stood out were many that had
the brick colors (Lodden, Acorn, Bird and Vine)
If I were to be using those colors in my home, what
would a good wall color to have? I have been struggling
what color to paint my walls or what color should be
the main wall color that pours through out the house.
Can I get some samples of your fabrics?

Bar none, yours is the loveliest collection of tiles
I have ever seen. I am looking for 1.5 by 6 tiles to

She answered all my questions and also made sure that
I felt comfortable with every aspect of the order.
I was surprised by the speed in the delivery after
I placed the order. The order arrived sooner than I
had been promised.
After finishing the wallpapering, we were quite happy

problems. I am always a bit concerned when ordering
through a catalog or the on the internet but I will
never again hesitate to order from your company!
About two weeks ago I order two yards of William Morris
fabric by phone. The young woman who took my order
(I wish I recalled her name) was exceedingly polite
and helpful. A few days ago, I received another call
from another staff person (who was equally polite and
charming) to tell me the status of the order.
The parcel arrived on Saturday, and I am just thrilled
with the fabric. I sincerely hope my reupholstering
skills can live up to it! Thank you all so much for
such wonderful products and for having a staff that
understands what customer service is - a real rarity
these days. Please keep up the fine work.
I received the beautiful woodpecker tapestry for Xmas.
It’s even more wonderful than I thought it would
be. My question is this: what is the proper way to
hang it, that is, how would it have been hung. There
is an opening for a bar, but what might this have looked
like? Decorative? Hung by a cord or set on holders
of some kind? Any help you could give me would
be most welcome. Thanking you in advance.
Thank you so much for your quick reply and all your
ideas. We have a bungalow so those specific suggestions
are just right. Thanks again.

Colonial Revival Home
I am not sure you can help me but I am in a bit of
a decorative crisis.
We have just purchased a wonderful example of a Colonial
Revival home circa 1906, with wonderful original woodwork,
wall paper, stained glass etc. We are going to
have a baby soon, however, and the one room that was
painted over (walls and woodwork) is precisely the
room we would like to use as the nursery.
We have been looking into vintage fabrics and period
furniture for our child's room, but we lack any clear
advice on the subject of nursery decoration during
this period. Any references or products you may

are peeling away layers of paint on the windows, we
hope you can help.
Your website is wonderful and a real pleasure to use.

I have been perusing your site and have found some
very wonderful things. Congratulations on a beautiful
inventory! I am thinking about refinishing a tabletop
with tile. I particularly love the Art Nouveau tiles-
both the moulded and the tube-lined. Can I combine
the two styles? I like some of the moulded designs
but prefer the dark brown color of the plain tiles
for my surround. Would these work together or is the
finish noticeably different? If you could please get
back to me regarding these questions, I would greatly
appreciate it. Thank you.
